When people search for stuff in Google they are searchingfor keywords, which may be one word or many words strung together.
You obviously want to find the main keywords for your promotions, but you also want to get niche keywords that might not be so obvious. These are words that do not have such a high competition rate and if you’re using them for “pay per click” then you’re going to pay much less per click and even have much higher conversion rates.
It is likely you are already aware of what I am describing, but not everyone is on the same page, so just in case, I am going to cover some of my favorite free keyword search tools. Now some of these sites come with paid version, but they all come with a free standard version and that’s what we are going to be focusing on.
I recommend making your way over to WordTracker at the following URL:
http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/
WordTracker allows you to search for any terms volume over the last 90 days.
Another excellent keyword tool can be found at:
http://tools.seobook.com/general/keyword/
This one is great for looking at multiple search engines in one graph. You can see Google, Yahoo, MSN, and WordTracker all at once. You won’t get as much detail as with some of the other ones, but for side-by-side comparison, it’s very good.
Just make sure you do your keyword homework, it’s simple, but very important!
