What you want to do is write an article about 500 words in length and target one or two keywords, ones you think you can get to rank higher in a search engine, and then submit that article to free article directories.

Your article can be on anything you want, but you will get more readers and get more clicks, if your article reviews a product and states the positive experiences that you had with that product.

Whatever you do, don’t write a boring article no one wants to read. If you bore them in the first paragraph, they will not make it to the end, where they can click your link.

You obviously want to find the main keywords for your promotions, but you also want to get niche keywords that might not be so obvious. These are words that do not have such a high competition rate and if you’re using them for “pay per click” then you’re going to pay much less per click and even have much higher conversion rates.

It is likely you are already aware of what I am describing, but not everyone is on the same page, so just in case, I am going to cover some of my favorite free keyword search tools. Now some of these sites come with paid version, but they all come with a free standard version and that’s what we are going to be focusing on.

This one is great for looking at multiple search engines in one graph. You can see Google, Yahoo, MSN, and WordTracker all at once. You won’t get as much detail as with some of the other ones, but for side-by-side comparison, it’s very good.

Just make sure you do your keyword homework, it’s simple, but very important!

A problem almost all webmasters face is how to get traffic to your website without spending an arm or leg. Over the next few newsletters, we are going to touch on some great free traffic tools, which will help your campaign immensely.

The first program I would like to touch on is called Squidoo. If you have not heard of Squidoo by now, you probably have not been doing your homework.

Squidoo is a social book-marking site that caters to advertisers. Unlike other popular social networking sites, which frown upon marketing your products, Squidoo is a bit different. You can sell directly on Squidoo without any backlash.

Squidoo is great for many reasons, but the one reason that we like best is that it is free! Free is always fantastic, especially when it’s effective. Not to mention that Google especially loves Squidoo pages and gives them a good page rank.

Next you have to create your account and then create what Squidoo calls a lens, which is really a summary of home page information.

You set up a lens by clicking the “Get Started” link on the Squidoo’s homepage, then just click “Make A Lens!” on the next page.

Just follow the easy step-by-step instructions and create your own lens with whatever content you desire.

You can make your lens look professional with some smooth editing, images, RSS feeds, YouTube links, Blogs, Amazon,etc.  The list goes on and on. The more features you add, then more popular your website can be.

Once your lens is published, not only will you get traffic just from the Squidoo network, but you will also pick up extra search engine traffic. Just make sure you insert the right keywords and use a 5-7% keyword density.

Keyword density is the percentage of words on a web page that match a specified set of keywords. In the context of search engine optimization, keyword density can be used as a factor in determining whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase.

Due to the ease of managing keyword density, search engines usually implement other measures of relevancy to prevent webmasters from creating search spam through practices such as keyword stuffing. In other words, if you use the same word over and over again, you get penalized. If you don’t use it enough, then you don’t appear to be as relevant.

Best bet is to aim for about 5-7% keyword density.

Well it’s easier than you think. You can always get a camera and then video tape yourself while you explain your product, but cameras cost money, so this can be an expensive method.

What I recommend for you to do is get some quality screen capture software. This way you can set up a tutorial on how to use your product or you can use the screen capture software to record a PowerPoint presentation. Then once you have your video, you’re ready to upload.
